     Glide down the rapids of Brasstown Creek in a kayak, and Days Inn Toccoa is a brilliant site to get some rest. You'll stumble on a stunning lake called Hughes Lake near Ramsey Pond, and there's nice hiking along the Bartram Trail. This is a popular spot for folks from Toccoa; camping at Sunset Campground is always a pleasant experience.
Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Ramsey Pond. Paddling on Chauga River is so much fun,
 
   and don't leave Ramsey Pond without first going for a hike along the Chattooga Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Ramsey Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Toccoa Rv Park & Campground is a good local campground, and golf can be played at Toccoa City Golf Course. Do visit Harper Pond in the neighborhood of Ramsey Pond, it's a beautiful lake, and if you need a spot to stay Knights Inn & Suites Toccoa is a delightful choice.

               down from the sky makes Ramsey Pond a wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is October. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Ramsey Pond. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 50's while Ramsey Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Ramsey Pond; Burrells Ford Trail is a good local trail, and hey, Walton Creek is a delightful local stream.

The shorelines are constant except in times of heavy rainfall and original life of lake was projected to exceed 100 years. Silt accumulation after 20 years was approximately .5 inche. Normal elevation is apporximately 800'. Feeder streams maintain lake levels even during extended periods of insufficient rainfall and at the same time provide spill into the exiting stream bed.
The lake has been pulled down during periods of heavy construction of highways across the feeder streams to allow silt to return to the streams and pass thru thedrain gates.
Buena Vista Dr crosses the lake in two places; one being the main dam and again on the Coe Branch inlet. Original construction of dams accommodated these crossings.
Over the years sport fishing has been excellent with large mouth Bass, Crappie, Brem, Pike And Catfish, however fishing is limited due to private ownership of property including the lake basin.
The shorelines and surounding hills are populated with native hardwoods and pine, creating scenery which is unsurpassed in the area. Wild turkey, deer, beave...

Hi!? I am looking for information.? Recently, I have been going thru old black and white photos that belong to my grandmother.? I have several dozen that are dated Easter Sunday, 1945 (April 1st).? I have being attempting determine the location where these pics were taken.? The only thing grandmother can remember is a name:? Panther Creek Park.? She thought it was somewhere around Corniela.? I found this web page while doing a search for it.? I have included some pics.? The most obvious feature in a lot of this photos is a round brick object that people seemed to spend a lot of time lounging around.? I don't know what to actually call it.? Is this the right park??...
