Old River is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; all through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is November. You'll meet a lot of folks from Dillon here; if you need a place to stay The Decanter Inn is a splendid choice. This lake is so wonderful. Old River is not the only site nearby, Anderson Lake is a nearby lake,       and at Old River you can catch a glimpse of Big Sand Hills. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Old River has to offer, you can camp at Little Pee Dee State Park; swing by Briar Creek it's a wonderful location to visit. Be careful coming to Old River, you might not ever wanna go home again. On a pleasant day you can check out Back Swamp, a swamp close to Old River. High temperatures at Old River through the summertime months are in the 90's,                  and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Old River drop into the 20's.
