    What a nice lake Oconee State Park Lake Number One is. This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Oconee Station state Historic Site, and during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Seneca for sure. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Chattooga River, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Ellicott Rock Trail.
Very scenic
 
   scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Sky Valley; as expected Big Stakey Creek flows through this vicinity. That right there is a heap already, but it keeps on going; Oconee State Park Lake Number One has it all. What would winter be without some skiing at Scaly Mountain, and if you need a place to stay Walhalla Motel is a magnificent choice. If you come at the right time of year, Chauga River offers some wonderful whitewater, and on a good day you can take  
               a hike along the Winding Stairs Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. A fine nearby hotel is Park Ave Guest House, and the Burrells Ford Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by. Why not camp at Yellow Branch Campground if you're here at Oconee State Park Lake Number One, and a short tour to Hidden Falls is always worthwhile. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Oconee State Park Lake Number One highs are usually in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Oconee State Park Lake Number One are in the 20's.
This is a magnificent neighborhood for people who like lakes. Lake Becky is a lake nearby, and the summit of Long Mountain can be observed from Oconee State Park Lake Number One. Oconee State Park Lake Number One gets a great deal of water; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is April.
