It's always fun to stop by Newson Pond. Not far from Newson Pond, you'll stumble on Sunesac Lake which is a lovely lake. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Newson Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's while Newson Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Southland Motel is a perfect place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Newson

| | Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp In The Pines is a perfect location for that.
Some nearby water includes Bells Branch; if you came to camp Lee state Natural Area is a good place to do that. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn-Bishopville is a great spot to spend a night or two, and golf can be played at Bethune Country Club Golf Course. A lot of precipitation falls at Newson Pond; most of the rain falls throughout July, and April on the other hand is the driest.
