Stay the night at Dogwood Travel Trailer Park; Cox Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at. McDonalds Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls throughout March while April is regularly the driest month. A good place for whitewater paddling close to McDonalds Pond is Saluda River, and folks from Greenville love to come here. Having a great time at McDonalds Pond is easy.       Tankersley Lake Dam has nice water scenery and it's next to McDonalds Pond, and after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn is a delightful site to spend a night or two. Take a hike on the Black Mountain Trail, and McDonalds Pond is right by the Mullinax Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful.
