Osborne Mountain is striking and can be spotted from McDonalds Pond; after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hendersonville-Flat Rock,Nc is a magnificent location to spend       a night or two. Stay the night at The Valley Park Resort, and going for a hike along the Mullinax Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Cox Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Black Mountain Trail. McDonalds Pond gets a large amount of water; March is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is April. Tankersley Lake Dam                  is a site that is in close proximity to McDonalds Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Saluda River in a kayak; a tremendous close by hotel is The Waverly Inn. Through the warm months highs here at McDonalds Pond reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's.
