A short tour to Neal Shoals is always worthwhile. All the water falling down from the sky makes McDaniels Pond a wet place; March is when you get the most rain here, and November meanwhile is the driest month. You're almost certainly into lakes, Neal Shoals Reservoir is one of those nearby, and get your pulse rate up on the nice whitewater of Tyger River. The warmest time of the year at McDaniels Pond comes with       high temperatures in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 50's while McDaniels Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. It's a great idea to have a look at Hobsons Creek, it's near McDaniels Pond; a good place for whitewater paddling is Broad River. McDaniels Pond is not far at all from Union, and                  McDaniels Pond Dam Number Two has perfect water scenery. After a long day outdoors Newberry-Days Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at McDaniels Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Broad River Campground is a nice spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are brilliant; Gus Jeter Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of McDaniels Pond, and you can stay the night at Leeds Campground.   Newberry-Days Inn, Newberry 21 miles away Conveniently located off Interstate Highway 26 at exit 74.
