Gus Jeter Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and you can run the rapids of Broad River. It's a good idea to visit Hobsons Creek, it's next to McDaniels Pond; if you came for an overnight stay Leeds Campground is a good spot to camp. All through the days of summer highs here at McDaniels Pond       reach the 90's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at McDaniels Pond drop into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. McDaniels Pond is a rather wet                  place regularly with a large amount of rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; November on the other hand is the driest. Don't leave McDaniels Pond without first paying a visit to Neal Shoals, and you're sure to bump into some good folks from Union here.
