If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Sumter is a perfect choice. There's so much to do here at Mathis Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Poinsett state Park is a nice location for that. Mathis Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain; November is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Mathis Pond there are plenty of folks from       Sumter, and a lake nearby is Swan Lake. At Mathis Pond through the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Mathis Pond. If you came to camp Elliott's Landing and Campground is a good location to do that; Second Millpond is a nearby lake that you could check out. Getting to Nasty Branch from Mathis Pond is trouble-free,                  and if you're here you can play some golf at Sumter National Golf Club. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Mathis Pond.
