Go for a hike on the Horn Creek Hiking Trail, and lots of people from Augusta-Richmond County come here. Now, you may feel that's a load but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Mathis Pond. Throughout the summer months at Mathis Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's; nighttime       lows in the 30's for Mathis Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Edgefield Inn, and camping at Pineacres Mobile Home Park is always a splendid experience. Mathis Pond gets a great deal of water; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest of the months is November. Paddling on Savannah River is so much fun, and if you came to camp Aiken RV Park is a great location to do that. This lake is so wonderful.
