Lawsons Fork Creek has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby; Pinecone Campground is a splendid campground nearby. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Martin Lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Martin Lake a wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while April is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday       Inn Express GAFFNEY OUTLET MALL I-85 is a good site to get some rest, and you're sure to bump into some cheerful people from Gaffney here. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Broad River; Martin Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Croft state Natural Area is a wonderful place to camp nearby. It's a wonderful idea to have a look at Goucher Creek, it's close to Martin Lake, and after a long                  day outdoors Super 8 Gaffney is a fine location to spend a night or two. Summer at Martin Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's.
