Go to Marritt Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. There's whitewater on Cedar Creek for all you adrenaline people, and if you need a location to stay Jameson Inn Seneca is a glorious choice. Summertime highs at Marritt Pond usually tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are commonly in the 50's; during the dark hours in the winter at Marritt Pond temperatures drop to the 20's.

| | Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Chauga River; you'll probably meet some folks from Seneca here.
Why not camp at Church Campground while you're here at Marritt Pond, and hiking along the Chattooga Trail is perfect fun. This lake is so wonderful. Near Marritt Pond you hit upon a golf course called Oconee Country Club, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Burrells Ford Trail.

in a day to enjoy this location. Marritt Pond is right by the Winding Stairs Trail, and if you've had enough of Marritt Pond, Coneross Watershed 9-A Reservoir is nearby. The high level of rain makes Marritt Pond a pretty wet site;
the month with most of the rain is March while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Keowee Falls RV Park is a fine place to camp, and a perfect nearby hotel is Seneca-Days Inn Clemson.
