Oak Ridge Country Club is a pleasant golf course close by, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Lawsons Fork Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Maple Pond a wet place;       the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is April. During your journey to Maple Pond you'll meet some folks from Union for sure, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Cunningham Creek. If you need a spot to stay Marriott Spartanburg Renaissance Park is a fine choice, and camping is available at Croft state Natural Area. Just can't get enough of Maple Pond.
