A perfect nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites COLUMBIA-FORT JACKSON; at Lower Legion Lake you always meet someone from Columbia. Upper Legion Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to; if you come at the right time of year, Saluda River offers some tremendous whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for a brilliant spree? Congaree Swamp National Monument is pretty in the neighborhood of Lower Legion       Lake, and while you're here you can play some golf at Sedgewood Country Club. Lower Legion Lake usually gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is November. After a long day outdoors Columbia-Days Suites Garners Ferry is a good location to spend a night or two, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Broad River. Sesquicentennial State Park is a good campground nearby.                  At Lower Legion Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Lower Legion Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time.
