It's always fun to stop by Lake Katherine. If you need a spot to stay Econo Lodge Columbia is a good choice; Lake Katherine is great enough to spend more than a day at, Sesquicentennial State Park is a great local campground. Here at Lake Katherine there are plenty of people from Columbia, and the sights at Congaree Swamp National Monument will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of Broad River in a kayak, and Lake Katherine Dam

So much amusing stuff near Lake Katherine, truly mind-blowing. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Forest Lake; needless to say Eightmile Branch is a pretty stream that is worth going to. Rodeway Inn & Suites is a perfect spot to get some rest, and camping at Capital City Campground is always a glorious experience. If you come at the right time of year, Saluda River offers some brilliant whitewater.
