My family and I rented a lovely country home called Maplecrest at Lake Jocasse. It was just perfect and very close to the Park and all the nearby Lake activities. It is hard to find a pet friendly rental but they were very accommodating! - James Richardson



Lake Jocassee is a crystal clear mountain lake located in Upstate South Carolina. A pristine watershed created in the 1970's as part of the Jocassee Gorges Conservation Area. Jocassee is fed by a myraid of waterfalls, rivers and streams. The Lake is extremely deep with depths of up to 350 ft. making it a fisherman's paradise. The Lake has 75 miles of mostly undeveloped shoreline and is the Crown Jewel of the Southern Blueridge Mountains. A Jocassee Vacation is not to be missed. - John Robinson

    Lake Jocassee is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Toxaway River is a nice spot to stop at, and paddling on Little Eastatoe River is so much fun. Dry warm beds await you at Sapphire Valley Resort, and Lake Jocassee is great enough to spend more than a day at, Devils Fork State Park is a great local campground. Soar down the rapids of Eastatoe Creek - Lower Gorge in a kayak, and a magnificent spot to camp here at Lake Jocassee is Keowee-Toxaway  
   state Natural Area.
Lake Jocassee is a place with many visitors from Brevard; hiking along the Winding Stairs Trail is perfect fun. If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great world it would be. If you need a spot to stay Best Western Executive Inn is a tremendous choice; the scenery at Jocassee Dam is picturesque. Lake Jocassee is right by the Foothills Trail, and on a gorgeous day you acquire a delightful vista of Bootleg Mountain
 
               from Lake Jocassee.
This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Jocasse is near Lake Jocassee. Lake Jocassee usually gets a large amount of rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is April. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Lake Jocassee get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lake Jocassee drop into the 20's.
