Why not take a refreshing hike along the Winding Stairs Trail, and Lake Jocasse is not far at all from Brevard. Eastatoe Creek - Lower Gorge has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby; hey, Toxaway River is a pleasant local stream. Best Western Executive Inn is a great spot to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Lake Jocasse that you need to camp here for a while, Keowee-Toxaway       state Natural Area is a great location for that. Man, is there a lot of enjoyable things to do in the vicinity of Lake Jocasse. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Jocasse; Foothills Trail is a wonderful local trail; Jocassee Dam is not far at all from Lake Jocasse. This lake is so wonderful. From Lake Jocasse you obtain a fine sight of Bootleg Mountain. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little                  Eastatoe River. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lake Jocasse has to offer, you can camp at Devils Fork State Park. Summertime highs at Lake Jocasse usually tend to be in the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Lake Jocasse tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Sapphire Valley Resort, obviously you could also visit Lake Jocassee if you're here; it's not far at all.
