close by hotel is Knights Inn Anderson/Clemson, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Rocky River. So many exciting things close to Lake Huntington, clearly unbelievable. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Double Branch, and Broadway Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by.

Saluda River
 | 18 miles away 3/31/2007 This was a nice trip. Put in behind Riverside Tavern on Hwy124, went to Hwy86 in Piedmont. Only scratched the boats a couple times in the few small rapid areas. You will have to paddle about the last 4 or 5 miles due to the back water from the Piedmont dam. Trip took 5.5 hours at this time of the year with good flow in the river. I expected it to take much longer and paddled a bit every now and then. Some fallen trees but no problem going right thru them. Will defiantly go again for a relaxing day on the river. ... |
