    Many people like to go to Lake Cherokee. The skiing at Scaly Mountain is fine, and since you're here, you could also stop at beautiful Lake Isaquenna. While you're here at Lake Cherokee you can take a hike along the Winding Stairs Trail, and at Lake Cherokee you always meet someone from Seneca. At Lake Cherokee all through the summertime highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in  
   the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lake Cherokee drop into the 20's.
In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chattooga River - East Fork, and Boast Mountain can be distinguished from Lake Cherokee. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Jameson Inn Seneca is a perfect location to spend a night or two. A good deal of precipitation falls at Lake Cherokee;
 
               during March this area sees the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest.
A tremendous close by hotel is Sapphire Valley Resort, and Oconee Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Lake Cherokee rocks! Take a side visit to Cantrell Creek, and a nice spot to camp here at Lake Cherokee is Oconee Station state Historic Site. This lake is so wonderful. On a splendid day at Lake Cherokee you can take a hike along the Foothills Trail, and Lake Cherokee is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Moody Spring Campground is a fine local campground.
