    Lake Cherokee is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. A day on the slopes of Scaly Mountain is just what you need, and you're most likely addicted to lakes, Lake Cheohee is one of those nearby. Here at Lake Cherokee you'll most likely meet some people from Seneca, and the Winding Stairs Trail offers hiking at its best. Much rainfall falls at Lake Cherokee; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month  
   of the year is April.
All the outdoors fun things in close proximity to Lake Cherokee will keep you coming back persistently. Visit Cantrell Creek since you're here at Lake Cherokee; a great close by hotel is Sapphire Valley Resort. This lake is so wonderful.                Isaquenna is in close proximity, and Chattooga River - East Fork is a nice whitewater spot nearby.
Lake Cherokee is great enough to spend more than a day at, Moody Spring Campground is a great local campground, and if you need a spot to stay Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a great choice. High temperatures at Lake Cherokee during the summer are in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the winter highs are regularly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Lake Cherokee plunge into the 20's.
Camping at Oconee Station state Historic Site is always a great experience; if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Oconee Creek.
