Summer at Johns Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; night lows at Johns Pond during the wintertime regularly dip into the 20's. A magnificent location for whitewater paddling near Johns Pond is Chauga       River, and do take a hike on the Chattooga Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Winding Stairs Trail is pleasant fun, and a great site to camp here at Johns Pond is Sunset Campground. There are plenty of people from Seneca here at Johns Pond, and camping at Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area is always a glorious experience. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Johns Pond. Snow River is a great whitewater spot near Johns Pond;                  going for a hike along the Burrells Ford Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
