Island Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Redcliffe Plantation state Historic Site is a perfect local campground, and since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Augusta-Richmond County. Island Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; throughout March this area sees the most rain while November is usually the driest month. Summertime highs at Island Lake generally tend to be in the 90's. Through the       dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Island Lake temperatures plunge to the 30's. A glorious nearby hotel is Augusta Budget Inn; if you need a location to stay Augusta Days Inn is a good choice. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area in close proximity to Island Lake has to offer. Do schedule some time to visit Bradford Point                  in close proximity to Island Lake if you have a chance, and camping at Betty's RV and Trailer Court is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Island Lake, you'll hit upon Horseshoe Lake which is a pretty lake, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Savannah River. Lakes are splendid; Clarkes Lake is a lake that's near Island Lake; enjoy a round of golf at Goshen Plantation Golf Club. Swamps are attention-grabbing spots and Hardens Dead River near Island Lake is no exception, and don't forget to take a pleasant little trip to Spirit Creek.
