Try First Creek. Hunt Pond is a location with many visitors from Columbia, and if you have time to spare, Congaree Swamp National Monument is a national park worth checking out. Vernett Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore, and you can stay the night at Edmund RV Park. High temperatures at Hunt Pond during the days of summer are       in the 90's while nighttime lows are typically in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Hunt Pond temperatures plunge to the 30's. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Broad River; after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Airport is a good place to spend a night or two.
