Camping at Betty's RV and Trailer Court is always a wonderful experience; don't miss out on a delightful swamp; Hardens Dead River is right here at Horseshoe Lake. New Savannah Bluff is an attention-grabbing location to stop by while at Horseshoe Lake; Bradford Point is reasonably close. All the water falling down from the sky makes Horseshoe Lake a wet location;

a day at, Redcliffe Plantation state Historic Site is a splendid local campground. During the summer at Horseshoe Lake highs are mostly in the 90's. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's
while Horseshoe Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Horseshoe Lake, you could check out Butler Creek, and a tremendous location for whitewater paddling
is Savannah River. A wonderful nearby hotel is Augusta Days Inn. Lakes are brilliant; Island Lake is a lake that's close to Horseshoe Lake. Horseshoe Lake is a site with many visitors from Augusta-Richmond County; after a long day outdoors Augusta Budget Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two.

 | 16 miles away There are two open spillway dams between the Hwy 28 (Fury's Ferry) Bridge and I-20: Stevens Creek Dam (at the confluence of Stevens Creek) and the Augusta Canal Diversion Dam (about a mile downstream of Stevens Creek Dam). There are no marked access points immediately on either side of either dam. Georgia Power Co. operates an electric generating facility on the Georgia (south) bank at Stevens Creek. At the Canal, since the canal immediately parallels the river some twenty feet above it, there is no river access whatsoever on the Georgia side. Portage would be recommended along private land on the South Carolina side of both dams.... |
