At Horger Pond through the warm months highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 70's. During the winter highs are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Horger Pond are in the 30's. The high level of rainfall makes Horger Pond a quite wet place; July is the wettest month with most rain, and October is when it's the driest. Why not camp at Wheat water Lake Campground while you're       here at Horger Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn Orangeburg. If you came for an overnight stay Mountaineer Motel is a fine site to camp, and if time allows, Congaree Swamp National Monument is a national park worth going to. This lake is so wonderful. Hillcrest Golf Course is a good golf course nearby, and the great folks of Orangeburg like to hang out nearby.
