Comfort Suites Lexington is a great spot to get some rest, and Cedar Pond Campground is a delightful campground nearby. Lots of rain falls at Highland Pond; through the month of March you get the most rain around here while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Crout Pond, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Kinard is a splendid spot to camp. This lake is so

Lakes are great; Koons Pond is a lake that's near Highland Pond. During the long summer days, highs usually are in the 90's at Highland Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Highland Pond. | |

Then He Had A Little Larger Pond Beside The Old House That My Great Grandfather Judge Ioor Hayes Had Built With His Son James Cline. Well This Pond Beside The House Was Used To Hold Large Cats That He Would Release Into The Large Pond. He Would Always Be Careful About How Many. And When He Would Release Them He Was Always Watching The Balance Of Their Environment. Then If You Took A Little Ride Around The Back Curve Of The Road Behind The House You Would Come Upon A Really Nice Bream Pond To The Left. Now You Could Say You Were Really In For A Treat If You Were Allowed To Fish There .... Guest Included Because They Were Huge!!!! If You Went On About 100Ft Or So On The Right My Father Had Built On His Own Some Catfish Hatching Ponds. I Wasn'T Too Awful Fond Of These Ponds Because They Meant Work And If You Know Anything About Fertilising And Feeding Then You Know What I Mean. But Don'T Get Me Wrong I Would ... |

 | Tent Sites, RV Hookups, Fires OK, Store, Nearby Grocery, Pool...TENT:Outpost Campground offers it's own Picnic Pavilion with electrical outlets. There is also a bathroom there on site. Camp fires are allowed. Sorry, no pets., RV:RV Campground overlooks the Lake. Campground includes Shower and bath house, and picnic pavilion. There are 13 paved RV sites with water and electrical hookups. 11 are 30 watt and 2 are 50 watt. There is also a dump station on site, - 13 RV hookups, STORE:There are assorted stores including Wal-Mart and Food Lion 7 miles away in downtown Leesville., GROCERY:Additional Comment: Located 7 miles away in Downtown Leesville. For smaller food needs there is a gas station with blimpee and a truck stop resturant 3 miles away towards the interstate., POOL:Pool must be reserved. There is an additional fee for groups not staying in the bunk bed cottages or the lodge rooms.... |
