If you came to camp Mountaineer Motel is a brilliant spot to do that; you'll come across a beautiful lake called Farly Road Reservoir. Through the warm days of summer at Gramling Pond highs are ordinarily in the 90's, and  
   the overnight is a bit colder of course, commonly in the 70's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Gramling Pond temperatures drop to the 30's.
At Gramling Pond you always meet someone from Orangeburg, and a round of golf at nearby Hillcrest Golf Course is a wonderful way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a great little tour to Little Bull Creek, and a gorgeous lake like
 
               Owens Pond is a splendid place to check out. Gramling Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Cattle Creek Campground is a great local campground, and dry warm beds await you at Fairfield Inn By Marriott Orangeburg.
Gramling Pond is a wet location that gets a good deal of rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here while October is usually the driest month.

... of these old-time religion meetings over a greater number of years. Mazie's Grandpa Johnson was also the Johnson brother who passed on his love of the outdoors to his greater family. Not only his sons, but those of Johnny's depended on learning the great Southern sports of hunting and fishing and exploring the wonderful Southland's outdoor wonders.
Carlisle, Nook, Bud, and other Johnson boys would frequently visit with their Uncle Semme to join in with the many hunts and fishing trips on the South Edisto, because their father Johnny was the more studious of the two -- he loved his reading and the more indoor activities of a scholar.
The fishing stories of Odell and Mary which have been told in the Johnson Family Newsletter are evidence of the love of the outdoors which was passed down to the family from Grandpa Semme.
And to some degree, Marley and Heeley are now enjoying the pleasures of the old-time religion at the old camp grounds which their greatgreatgranddaddy Semme experienced for so many years over a hundred years ago at Cattle Creek Camp Grounds.
