After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Anderson-I85 Exit 19B/Hwy 76, is a perfect spot to spend a night or two; a pleasant site for whitewater paddling is Double Branch. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Gillespie Lake you can play some golf at Woodhaven Golf Club &; Eighteenmile Creek is a tremendous whitewater spot close by. Fifteenmile Creek is in the vicinity of Gillespie Lake       and is always a diversion to go to; lots of folks from Anderson come here. For the period of the months of summer at Gillespie Lake highs are commonly in the 80's while nighttime lows are usually in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with temperatures at Gillespie Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Camping at Camp Sertoma Of South Carolina is always a good experience, and Americas Best Inns-Clemson is a great place to get some                  rest.
