Whitewater paddling is great on Saluda River, and Forest Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Capital City Campground is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Forest Lake, you could also take a look at close by Coopers Pond, and the sight of Quinine Hill is gorgeous. Forest Lake regularly gets a large amount of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain;       November is the month with the least moisture. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Forest Lake is unbeatable! After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Columbia/Ft. Jackson Area is a great spot to spend a night or two, and playing golf is lots of fun at Northwoods Golf Club. During the summer here at Forest Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 90's while night lows are frequently in the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally                  in the 50's while Forest Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. Broad River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by; why not a little side trip to Eightmile Branch. Forest Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at; if you need a place to stay Columbia-Days Inn Columbia Mall is a fine choice. If time allows, Congaree Swamp National Monument is a national park worth checking out, and you can take a little spree to Forest Lake Dam since you're here at Forest Lake. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Forest Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Columbia.
