Deschamps Big Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is November. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Poinsett state Park is a good site to do that; Best Western Sumter Inn is a perfect spot       to get some rest. Sumter National Golf Club is a tremendous golf course nearby, and swing by Cane Savannah Creek it's a brilliant site to take a look at. Through the summertime at Deschamps Big Pond highs are mostly in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with temperatures at Deschamps Big Pond dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. There's so much to                  do here at Deschamps Big Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Elliott's Landing and Campground is a wonderful site for that, and a charming lake like Des Champs Pond is a perfect spot to go to.
