There's so much to do here at Colonial Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Charles Towne Landing state Historic Site is a good place for that, and some of the water nearby flows, like Ashley River. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Wentworth Mansion is a good choice, and this is a popular site for people from Charleston-North Charleston. Through the summer, highs usually       are in the 90's at Colonial Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 70's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and overnight lows at Colonial Lake through the wintertime frequently plunge into the 30's. A great close by hotel is John Rutledge House Inn, and while you're here you can play some golf at The Golf Club Wescott Plantation. Stay the night at The Campground at James Island; you are in the vicinity of                  Albemarle Point while you're here. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Colonial Lake has it all. Fort Moultrie National Monument is one of the destinations right next door to Colonial Lake that are great to go to, and Dills Bluff is an out of the ordinary spot to pop by while at Colonial Lake.
