Clarkes Lake ordinarily gets lots of rainfall; March is the wettest month with most rain, and November is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Betty's RV and Trailer Court. Lots of people from Augusta-Richmond County come to Clarkes Lake, and Hardens Dead River is an interesting swamp in the vicinity of Clarkes Lake. For the duration of the summer months at Clarkes Lake highs       are commonly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Clarkes Lake are in the 30's. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Clarkes Lake. Take a side journey to Spirit Creek. Lakes are pleasant; Brierpatch Lake is a lake that's near Clarkes Lake. A great location to camp here at Clarkes Lake is Redcliffe Plantation                  state Historic Site; a nice nearby hotel is Augusta Budget Inn. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Island Lake is one of those close by, and on a gorgeous day you get a splendid view of Whites Mound from Clarkes Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
