Cunningham RV Park is a fine campground nearby, and a great nearby hotel is Spartanburg - Days Inn Waccamaw. Man, is there heaps of exciting stuff to do close to Chestnut Lake. An afternoon playing golf at Village Golf Club is always a delight, and if you come at the right time of year, Middle Tyger River offers some brilliant whitewater. Stay the night at Creekside RV Park, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but       if it's for you then, we recommend South Tyger River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Chestnut Lake a wet place; most of the rain falls through March; April meanwhile is the driest month. Looking for some flowing water? Try Greene Creek, and a lake nearby is Lake Cooley. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Spartanburg is a great spot to spend a night or two, and lots of people from Spartanburg come here. At Chestnut                  Lake all through the summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's.
