Caughmans Pond is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is November. If only every place had this much outdoors fun things, what a great globe it would be. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites COLUMBIA-FORT JACKSON is a great location to get some rest, and Sedgewood Country Club is a good golf course       close by. This lake is so wonderful. You can take a little tour to Lake Trotwood Dam while you're here at Caughmans Pond; a tour to Congaree Swamp National Monument is worthwhile. Caughmans Pond is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Capital City Campground is a perfect local campground, and a beautiful lake like Pinewood Lake is a great place to visit. If you come at the right time of year, Broad River offers some great whitewater, and if you need                  a spot to stay Candlewood Suites COLUMBIA-FT. JACKSON is a good choice. If you're here at Caughmans Pond, you could visit Goose Branch, and Caughmans Pond is a nice lake nearby. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Caughmans Pond. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Caughmans Pond temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Saluda River.
