In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tyger River, and Caldwells Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Saluda River Resort is a tremendous local campground. At Caldwells Pond during the months of summer highs are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Caldwells Pond. Looking

This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Caldwells Pond you will meet lots of people from close by Newberry. There's so much to do here at Caldwells Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Dreher Island State Recreation Area is a tremendous location for that.

back many times. A nice nearby hotel is Quality Inn Newberry. Broad River is a wonderful whitewater spot near Caldwells Pond, and you're in all probability interested in lakes, Greenslades Pond is one of those close by.

Tent Sites, RV Hookups, Fires OK, Store, Nearby Grocery, Pool...TENT:Outpost Campground offers it's own Picnic Pavilion with electrical outlets. There is also a bathroom there on site. Camp fires are allowed. Sorry, no pets., RV:RV Campground overlooks the Lake. Campground includes Shower and bath house, and picnic pavilion. There are 13 paved RV sites with water and electrical hookups. 11 are 30 watt and 2 are 50 watt. There is also a dump station on site, - 13 RV hookups, STORE:There are assorted stores including Wal-Mart and Food Lion 7 miles away in downtown Leesville., GROCERY:Additional Comment: Located 7 miles away in Downtown Leesville. For smaller food needs there is a gas station with blimpee and a truck stop resturant 3 miles away towards the interstate., POOL:Pool must be reserved. There is an additional fee for groups not staying in the bunk bed cottages or the lodge rooms.... |

.... Then He Had A Little Larger Pond Beside The Old House That My Great Grandfather Judge Ioor Hayes Had Built With His Son James Cline. Well This Pond Beside The House Was Used To Hold Large Cats That He Would Release Into The Large Pond. He Would Always Be Careful About How Many. And When He Would Release Them He Was Always Watching The Balance Of Their Environment. Then If You Took A Little Ride Around The Back Curve Of The Road Behind The House You Would Come Upon A Really Nice Bream Pond To The Left. Now You Could Say You Were Really In For A Treat If You Were Allowed To Fish There .... Guest Included Because They Were Huge!!!! If You Went On About 100Ft Or So On The Right My Father Had Built On His Own Some Catfish Hatching Ponds. I Wasn'T Too Awful Fond Of These Ponds Because They Meant Work And If You Know Anything About Fertilising And Feeding Then You Know What I Mean. But Don'T Get Me Wrong I Would Love Coming Up To The Pond After School With My Brother And Help Father Feed The Big Slabs Of Fish Food. Even At A Young Age I Wondered Why He Was Doing This Because The Pond Was ... |
