Summertime highs at Cain Pond frequently tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Cain Pond through the winter usually plunge into the 30's. At Cain Pond you always meet someone from       Sumter, and a glorious location to camp here at Cain Pond is Poinsett state Park. This lake is so wonderful. Do visit Elliott Lake near Cain Pond, it's a beautiful lake, and camping is available at Elliott's Landing and Campground. Cain Pond is a wet spot that gets lots of rain; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is November. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do close to Cain Pond.
