The high level of rainfall makes Butts Pond a rather wet spot; most of the rain falls during March, and the driest month of the year is October. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Chauga River, and you can go for a hike on the Chattooga Trail. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Toccoa is a splendid location to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Yellow Branch Campground. This lake is so wonderful.       Cedar Creek is a stream that you may run into during your stay, and Cassidy Bridge Campground is a good campground nearby. Good hiking is available along the Bartram Trail; get drenched paddling on Cedar Creek. If you love the outdoors, you'll go for Butts Pond. Toccoa Days Inn is a good site to get some rest, and Butts Pond is not the only spot close by, Smith Pond is a close by lake. One of the main traits of the surroundings of Butts Pond is Grassy Mountain;                  there are plenty of folks from Toccoa here. Scaly Mountain is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, obviously you could also take a look at Horseshoe Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. So much cool stuff to do here at Butts Pond, too tremendous to be true. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sky Valley, and there's good hiking along the Burrells Ford Trail. The warmest time of the year at Butts Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; the night is rather chillier of course, commonly in the 60's.
