Most of the boats on the lake belong to the lake residents because there is not public landings. Many residents enjoy water sports such as sking and riding in towables, cruising the lake and fishing. There are not boat restrictions. According to many publications, Boyd's Mill is a great lake to catch large mouth bass and catfish. The majority of the lake is not developed however there has been recent construction of many large homes. Many of the residents decorate their docks during the Christmas season. Overall, the lake is beautiful and very relaxing. Also, many people enjoy walking and fishing at the shoals at the bottom of the damn. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Boyd Millpond has it all. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Inns Laurens is a nice site to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is great on Reedy River. At Boyd Millpond through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows       in the 20's to Boyd Millpond. You're most likely hooked on lakes, Boyds Mill Reservoir is one of those close by; paddling on Saluda River is so much fun. This is a brilliant area for people who like lakes. Hendricks Pond is a lake in the vicinity, and Boyd Millpond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Midway Hunt Campground is a delightful local campground. Dry warm beds await you at Jameson Inn Greenwood, and you don’t have to go far from                  Boyd Millpond to make out the water at Boyds Mill Dam. This lake is so wonderful. People from Greenwood love to come to Boyd Millpond; a good location to camp here at Boyd Millpond is T-roy's.
