There's so much to do here at Blackwell Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Woodland Park Campground is a delightful location for that, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Kings Mountain, Nc is a good place to spend a night or two. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Blackwell Lake. Get dripping wet paddling on Broad River, and dry warm       beds await you at Quality Inn Kings Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Kings Branch is so much fun, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Ninety-Nine Island Reservoir. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Blackwell Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Blackwell Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Blackwell                  Lake gets a good deal of water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is April.
