Art Loeb Trail
19 miles away
Fred, there are no mountains in the south above timberline. There are mountains with no timber, however....One of my favs. the signs say most difficult, but that’s really only for the hard parts, the rest isn’t that bad ;)...But for real, bring sunscreen, and I would advise against camping on the balds...Wind is non-stop, and you are completely exposed to whatever random weather decides to show up, albeit rain, snow, or saturating mist....Beautiful scenery. Well worth the climb. Highly recommended!...The best Pisgah has to offer, and its pretty damn good....
