The warmest time of the year at Big Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Big Pond. After a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn is a great location to spend a night or two, and Big Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Ridgeland       Koa Kampground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Boyd Creek is a splendid local stream; you'll probably meet some folks from Hilton Head Island-Beaufort here. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. All our national parks are delightful locations to have a look at, and Fort Pulaski National Monument is no exception. Lakes are nice; Gregory Pond is a lake that's close to Big Pond, and a good close by hotel is Howard Johnson                  Express Inn. The high level of rainfall makes Big Pond a quite wet place; August is when you get the most rain here while November is commonly the driest month.
