Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Bates Pond is excellent! Good hiking is available along the Jerico Horse Trail, and why not a little side journey to Bennett Branch. If you came to camp No 1 Camps is a nice spot to do that, and don't leave Bates Pond without first going for a hike along the Swamp Fox Trail. Bates Pond is a rather wet place generally with a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year       is usually July, that's the one that rains the most, and November is the month with the least moisture. Residence Inn By Marriott Charleston Mount Pleasant is a great place to get some rest, and there are plenty of people from Charleston-North Charleston here. There's so much to do here at Bates Pond that you need to camp here for a while, KOA Kampgrounds is a brilliant place for that. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Hampton Inn & Suites                  Charleston/Mt.Pleasant-Isle is a pleasant location to spend a night or two; hiking is a popular thing to do around Bates Pond; Turkey Walk Trail is a brilliant local trail. If you like swamps, you're in luck, King Swamp is right nearby, and the views at Fort Moultrie National Monument will blow your mind. Through the days of summer here at Bates Pond, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 90's while night lows are usually in the 60's.
