Mayrants Reserve is a fine lake next to Bates Pond, and you're sure to bump into some smiling folks from Charleston-North Charleston here. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Bates Pond that you need to camp here for a while, No 1 Camps is a splendid spot for that; if you       need a location to stay Residence Inn By Marriott Charleston Mount Pleasant is a brilliant choice. Do pay a visit to Fort Moultrie National Monument since you're here at Bates Pond, and a picturesque lake like Red Bank Reserve is a pleasant site to take a look at. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Bates Pond. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter                  at Bates Pond temperatures fall to the 30's. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Bates Pond has to offer, you can camp at KOA Kampgrounds, and Hampton Inn & Suites Charleston/Mt.Pleasant-Isle is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Swamp Fox Trail is wonderful fun. You definitely must love Bates Pond. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Jerico Horse Trail; swamps can be such interesting locations, take a look at King Swamp while you're here at Bates Pond.
