If you are in this part of South Carolina make sure to pay a visit to Bailey Creek Reservoir. The high level of rain makes Bailey Creek Reservoir a rather wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain; April on the other hand is the driest. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Double Branch, and if you're here, you could also stop at beautiful Broadway Lake. Playing golf is lots of fun at Cobb's Glen Country

Saluda River
 | 17 miles away 3/31/2007 This was a nice trip. Put in behind Riverside Tavern on Hwy124, went to Hwy86 in Piedmont. Only scratched the boats a couple times in the few small rapid areas. You will have to paddle about the last 4 or 5 miles due to the back water from the Piedmont dam. Trip took 5.5 hours at this time of the year with good flow in the river. I expected it to take much longer and paddled a bit every now and then. Some fallen trees but no problem going right thru them. Will defiantly go again for a relaxing day on the river. ... |
