There's so much to do here at Alligator Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Capital City Campground is a great place for that. Gills Creek is a stream that you may encounter while here, and you're almost certainly addicted to lakes, Big Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Alligator Lake has to offer, you can camp at       Sesquicentennial State Park; a pleasant nearby hotel is Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Columbia. Don't leave Alligator Lake without first checking out Poplar Bottom, and Congaree Swamp National Monument is one of the destinations that are good to go to nearby. The high level of rain makes Alligator Lake a relatively wet spot; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most, and November on the other hand is the driest.                  If only every site had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great world it would be. Alligator Lake is a place with many visitors from Columbia. Lakes are fine; Big Goose Pond is a lake that's right next door to Alligator Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
