Edgewood Beach is in the vicinity of York Pond if you're in a beach type of mood, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Yawgoo Valley since you're here. At York Pond you can spot Baileys Butts, and Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is a good local destination. York Pond ordinarily gets lots of precipitation; the month with most of       the rain is November, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Clear and Branch offers some tremendous whitewater, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Frank Moody State Beach. A pleasant close by hotel is Radisson Hotel Providence Harbor, and Omega Pond Dam is pretty. A round of golf at nearby Silver Spring Golf Course is a perfect way to kill some time; after a long                  day outdoors Comfort Inn Pawtucket is a glorious place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Camp Finberg is a good spot to camp, and on a great day you can stop at Cat Swamp, a swamp near York Pond. This is a popular place for people from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River, and a delightful lake like Blackstone Pond is a brilliant site to stop at. Baileys Lower Cove is reasonably near York Pond, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Omega Pond. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Near York Pond you stumble on good spots like Green Jacket Shoal; Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort is a tremendous local campground. Summertime highs at York Pond commonly tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, generally in the 50's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for York Pond. You simply have to like York Pond.
