If you come at the right time of year, Quinebaug River offers some brilliant whitewater; wonderful scenery and good skiing is what you get at Yawgoo Valley. High temperatures at Wincheck Pond throughout the summertime months are in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's while Wincheck Pond nighttime low temperatures       during the winter are in the 10's. Why not stop at close by Log House Brook while you're here at Wincheck Pond, and if you've had enough of Wincheck Pond, Tippecansett Pond is close by. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Fenner Hill Country Club is close by, and La Quinta Inn and Suites Stonington is a great site to get some rest. Wincheck Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of                  the rain is November; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Time spent at Browning Mill Pond Area Beach in the vicinity of Wincheck Pond is always glorious, and Wincheck Pond is not the only location close by, Wincheck Pond is a close by lake. Wincheck Pond is right by the Narragansett Trail, and a delightful close by hotel is Budget Inn-Near Foxwoods. There are some nice whitewater spots on Matunuck Shore Break. Wincheck Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Whispering Pines Campground is a glorious local campground, and you can catch a glimpse of Brightman Hill from Wincheck Pond. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place.
