Wilbur Pond typically gets a good deal of rain; all through the month of November you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. One of the best things about       Wilbur Pond is its proximity to YWCA Beach; George Washington Memorial State Forest is worth a visit. If you're a golfer then a tremendous close by course is Crystal Lake Golf Club, and going for a hike on the Munyan Trail is always a good adventure. Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a great location near Wilbur Pond; probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Wilbur Pond is just a very short distance away. Go for a                  hike on the Border Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Clear and Branch offers some great whitewater.
