A good       beach in the vicinity of Wickaboxet Pond is Browning Mill Pond Area Beach, and a lake close by is Hazard Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Wickaboxet Pond a wet spot; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Plainfield, Ct is a fine site to get some rest, and why not a little side journey to Carson Brook. This lake is so wonderful.                  Take a hike on the Narragansett Trail, and paddling on Quinebaug River is so much fun. At Wickaboxet Pond all through the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Wickaboxet Pond temperatures fall to the 10's. Stepstone Falls is a great local attraction, and since you're here, do take a journey to Upper Deep Hole. If only every site had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great planet it would be. There's so much to do here at Wickaboxet Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Pine Valley RV Campground is a great place for that; why not head up to Yawgoo Valley and strap some skis to your feet. Get covered with water paddling on Clear and Branch. Hiking along the Border Trail is splendid fun, and dropping by Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
