All our national parks are nice places to explore, and Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is no exception; nearby you stumble on the Walkabout Trail which is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Killingly (Dayville), Ct; going for a hike on the Border Trail is always a magnificent       adventure. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Whites Pond. A delightful spot for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Whites Pond is Quinebaug River, and Hemlock Ledges is an interesting thing to catch a sight of if you're here. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Whites Pond reach the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the                  30's while the cold winter nights at Whites Pond are in the 10's. Whites Pond gets a good deal of water; November is the wettest month with most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. There are great sites to discover along the Munyan Trail, and swamps like Dark Swamp near Whites Pond make for glorious locations to go to. If you need a site to stay The Inn at Woodstock Hill is a wonderful choice. You're sure to come across some smiling people from Willimantic here, and lakes are such calm sites, why not check out Grist Mill Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Lake Washington Dam to stop by in the vicinity of Whites Pond, and Bowdish Lake Camping Area is a wonderful campground nearby. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clear and Branch; if you came for an overnight stay Oakleaf Family Campground is a delightful site to camp. Williams Pond is a great lake near Whites Pond, and swing by Paquantuck Brook it's a fine site to pop by. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Whites Pond.
