It's always pleasant to go to Goose Nest Spring, and a scenic lake like The Reservoir is a brilliant place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Visiting Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; get yourself into a kayak and hit Matunuck Shore Break. During your stay at Slocum Reservoir do check out nearby Bonnet Shores Beach, and gorgeous scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Yawgoo

| | Valley. A golf course near Slocum Reservoir is Rolling Golf Course Golf, and you'll find a pretty lake called Yawgoo Mill Pond. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Slocum Reservoir. If the weather is lovely, you obtain a great sight of Dumping Rock from Slocum Reservoir. Through the long summer days at Slocum Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's. here at Slocum Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Silver Lakes Park is a glorious location for that. If you need a spot to stay Budget Inn-N. Kingstown NR Newport is a great choice. You'll need more than a day to
look at everything Slocum Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Wawaloam Campground. Slocum Reservoir sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November while February is regularly the driest month.
One of the best things about Slocum Reservoir is its proximity to North Kingston Town Beach, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Clayhead Nature Trail. Any time is a great time at Slocum Reservoir if you have a thing
about the outdoors. Slocum Reservoir Dam is scenic and it's right next door to Slocum Reservoir, and Holiday Inn South Kingstown (Newport Area) is a great place to get some rest.

 | 16 miles away Echo Lake is the best fishing lake in northern R.I. It has large mouth bass, pike, pickeral, and several varieties of pan fish. I have been fishing this lake for 45 years and it still produces some real fine fish....Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds. Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky. You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout... |
