Lakes are such serene spots, why not stop by Potowomut Pond close to Sandhill Pond, and a trip to nearby Calf Neck is very relaxing. Americas Best Value Inn-N. Kingstown is a glorious spot to get some rest; there are other locations here than Sandhill Pond, for example Potowomut Pond. Sandhill Pond in fact is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. | | Golf Course is always a bliss. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sandhill Pond a wet site; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while February is usually the driest month.
What a site this is for outdoors folks. Cocumcussoc is uncomplicated to spot from Sandhill Pond, and getting to Cocumcussoc Brook from Sandhill Pond is painless. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby | |

Yawgoo Valley, and you can hit the beach if you want, Goddard Memorial State Park Beach is practically right here.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Sandhill Pond. During the dark hours of summer temperatures
plunge down into the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are frequently in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Sandhill Pond drop into the 10's. Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor
is one of the destinations in close proximity to Sandhill Pond that are nice to go to, and dry warm beds await you at Budget Inn-N. Kingstown NR Newport. An out of the ordinary thing to stop by right next door to Sandhill Pond is
Potowomut Pond Dam, and a tremendous site to camp here at Sandhill Pond is Fisherman's Memorial State Park.
This lake is so wonderful. Swamps are exciting spots and Black Swamp in the vicinity of Sandhill Pond is no exception,
and camping at Wawaloam Campground is always a nice experience. People from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River love to come to Sandhill Pond, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at North Kingston Town Beach.

Echo Lake is the best fishing lake in northern R.I. It has large mouth bass, pike, pickeral, and several varieties of pan fish. I have been fishing this lake for 45 years and it still produces some real fine fish....Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds. Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky. You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout... |
