If you came for an overnight stay Middletown Campground is a good site to camp; on a great day it's a brilliant idea to spend the day at Peckham Beach. Nearby lakes? Sure, Watch House Pond is near Round Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn At Atlantic Beach. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to run into some good folks from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River here, and why not camp at Green Oceans while you're here at Round Pond. This is a glorious
area for people who like lakes. Long Pond is a lake in close proximity; Navy Beach is quite close by if you're in a beach type of mood.
Round Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; throughout the month of November you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July. During the long summer days highs here at Round Pond get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are usually in the

30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Round Pond plunge into the 10's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Round Pond. Enjoy a round of golf at Newport National Golf Club not far from Round Pond; Yawgoo Valley is a delightful local ski area.
If you like swamps, you're in luck, Briggs Marsh is right nearby, and if you feel like a little side spree, try Dolphin Rock. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Round Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Round Pond, do take a visit to Breakwater Point, and after a long day outdoors Rhea's Inn By The Sea is a great spot to spend a night or two.
There's some flowing water close by, Dundery Brook is a stream you can stop at while here; what would a spot like Round Pond be without attention-grabbing close by marks like Box Rock.

Echo Lake
17 miles away
Echo Lake is the best fishing lake in northern R.I. It has large mouth bass, pike, pickeral, and several varieties of pan fish. I have been fishing this lake for 45 years and it still produces some real fine fish....Echo is a nice pond. I go all the time and always catch something. The biggest i caught was a 6.5 pound large mouth on a watermelon colored lizard. Good place for bass....Pond is mostly made up of kivers and mabey a few striped bass nothing orn thsn 2.5 pounds.  Takes about an hour, fish are extremly smart and picky.  You are better off with brickyard which has fish up to 40 pounds and trout...
