On a wonderful day you can stop at Matunuck Beach in close proximity to Potter Pond, and if you need a place to stay Budget Inn-N. Kingstown NR Newport is a nice choice. All the outdoors fun stuff in the vicinity of Potter Pond will keep you coming back again and again. Golf can be played at Rose Hill Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Why not stop by a swamp like The  
   Breachway since you're here at Potter Pond, and you should go to Deep Hole when you're here.
The The Hills towers over Potter Pond, and why not a little side visit to Browns Brook. Summer at Potter Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Potter Pond temperatures dip to the 10's. Whohoo, so many entertaining things
 
               in one place! Potter Pond is unbeatable! On a glorious day at Potter Pond you can take a hike along the Clayhead Nature Trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn South Kingstown (Newport Area) is a good site to spend a night or two.
The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Yawgoo Valley; at Potter Pond you can see Blackberry Hill. People from Providence-New Bedford-Fall River love to come to Potter Pond, and a day at gorgeous East Matunuck State Beach close to Potter Pond is a perfect thing to do. This lake is so wonderful. Asa Pond is a nearby lake that you could check out. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Potter Pond has to offer, you can camp at Long Cove Camp Sites and Marina.
There's so much to do here at Potter Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Worden's Pond Family Campgrounds is a good spot for that, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Matunuck Shore Break. Lots of precipitation falls at Potter Pond; most of the rain falls during November, and the driest of the months is February.
